Probabilistic Risk Assessment (PRA) is a critical engineering subspecialty for the continued operation nuclear facilities. Nuclear utilities must continually develop their workforce to be able to maintain these complex models.

This Wiki is intended to outline a plan to develop the PRA workforce by providing a recommended course outline. This allows you to develop a training plan as well as to review the references to PRA information and training courses available. This material can provide a PRA Engineer with a basis of knowledge for success and supplements the site-specific model training needed to be fully qualified.

==Purpose==
Establish a recommended course outline for new PRA practitioner engineers in order to help ensure that engineers are able to be a proficient contributor to their organization as timely as possible. By developing a list of skillsets required for PRA engineers and correlating those skillsets to the available EPRI training courses, a recommended course list has been developed.

==Guide On How to Use==

To begin, it is important to identify what skills are needed to be developed. If you are not sure what skills you need to develop, browsing the Skillset topic pages on the sidebar and also organized below in the Model Engineer and Applications Engineer tables can help to identify which skills fit into available training. Full definitions for what constitutes a Model Engineer versus an Applications Engineer is available on the [[Background|Background]] page and a full list of courses can be found on the [[References|References]] page.

Once skillsets have been identified, navigating to the [[Curriculum Summary|Curriculum Summary]] you can find curriculum topics that correlate to their related courses.
*Use the Search bar above the Curriculum Summary table to filter on specific key words and course numbers
*The boxes on the far-right side of the table allow you to include certain curriculum subtopics that are then printed into a report by pressing the Preview Training Plan Button.

The [[Future Gaps|Future Gaps]] page lists the limitations for the curriculum and what is still to be developed. The [[References|References]] page lists all current courses and skillset specific wiki pages.

==PRA Engineers==

The PRA Workforce Development material is structured for both PRA Model Engineers and PRA Applications Engineers. PRA Model Engineers are typically responsible for the maintenance of the PRA model, while the PRA Applications Engineers are typically responsible for supporting the site and convey site information to the PRA Model Engineers.
